No-one wants to deal with boiler problems but they are a sad fact of life. The good news is that once you understand the fault codes, sorting these problems becomes much simpler.
L5: This error code is due to a problem with the return. Simply turn the boiler off and then on again at the wall with a few seconds delay in between.
C: This error code is due to a central heating a demand. To resolve it, simply press the reset button on the front of the boiler.
D: This error code is due to a hot water demand. It can be fixed using the same method as for the ‘C’ code, simply pressing the reset button on the front of the boiler.
0: This one can be displayed as either ‘0’ or ’00’ depending on your boiler’s model. This error code is due to a lack of demand from either the hot water or the central heating. Try using the hot water or turning the heater on to see if this error clears.
L2: This error code occurs when your pay-as-you-go gas meter runs out of credit. The first step in resolving is visiting your local top-up point and pay for more gas. Next, you will need to turn your boiler off, wait a few seconds and then turn it on again. If the code does not vanish when the boiler comes back on, you need to purge the remaining gas in the boiler by repeating this process. This must be done every 5 minutes until the code vanishes and may take some time.
L2 Ignition Lockout: The first step in diagnosing this error when temperatures are low is checking that your condensate plate is not frozen. If it is, check the commercial boiler repairs services available at ST Heating Services and ask us about solving this issue.
FA: This error code appears flashing on on a Logic Combi 35 boiler. It means that there is a problem with the flow and return pipes. The first step in clearing this message on a Combi boiler is checking that all of the isolation valves underneath the boiler are open. All of the radiator valves should also be set to full and the bypass must be free-flowing. These steps should solve the issue.
If the above steps have not solved the issue, or you find yourself dealing with the same error codes very frequently you need the services of a Gas Safe Engineer. You can get expert commercial boiler repairs at ST Heating Services and arrange for an inspection. Remember, if you are unsure about asking for professional help it is always better to be safe than sorry.
